Overview
The UK Lotto jackpot starts around £2 million. When no one matches all 6 numbers, it rolls over to the next draw. Each rollover adds more money until someone wins or the jackpot hits the Must Be Won cap.
Rollovers can create very large jackpots—historically, they have reached tens of millions of pounds. The exact cap and rollover rules are set by Camelot.
Jackpot amounts and rules are set by the operator. Fetix displays historical data only.
Important
When the jackpot reaches the Must Be Won threshold, the next draw guarantees a jackpot payout—either to Match 6 winners or shared among lower tiers.
How UK Lotto jackpots grow
The jackpot starts around £2 million (Wednesday) or £3.8 million (Saturday). When no one matches all 6 numbers, it rolls over to the next draw. Each rollover adds more money until someone wins or the jackpot hits the Must Be Won cap.
Rollovers can happen several times in a row, creating jackpots of tens of millions of pounds.
Must Be Won — guaranteed payout
When the jackpot reaches the Must Be Won threshold, the next draw guarantees a jackpot payout. If no one matches all 6, the jackpot is shared among lower tiers (e.g. Match 5+Bonus, Match 5) according to the rules. So the "jackpot" is always won on that draw, even if not by a Match 6 winner.

FAQ
What is the current UK Lotto jackpot cap?
The cap is set by Camelot and can change. When reached, the next draw is Must Be Won. Check national-lottery.co.uk for current rules.
Has anyone won the full jackpot alone?
Yes. There have been sole Match 6 winners. Often, large jackpots are shared among multiple winners.
How do I see past jackpot amounts?
Use UK Lotto draws and select the draw date. Each draw shows the jackpot and number of winners.
What happens to unclaimed prizes?
Unclaimed prizes go to National Lottery-funded projects after the claim deadline. Check official rules for details.
Does a bigger jackpot mean better odds?
No. Your odds per line are the same every draw. A larger jackpot only changes the potential payout, not the probability of winning.
