Overview
UK Lotto numbers run from 1 to 59. A common split is "low" (1–29) and "high" (30–59). Winning draws typically mix both ranges—all-low or all-high combinations are rare.
This describes historical distribution. It does not predict the next draw.

Each number 1–59 has equal probability per draw. Past high/low splits do not predict future results.

With 6 numbers from 1–59, the expected count from each half is roughly 3. So 3 low / 3 high is the most likely split. All 6 from one half (0/6 or 6/0) is rare.

Why high/low matters to some players
Some believe "balanced" lines (e.g. 3 low, 3 high) are "luckier". That is false. All combinations have the same probability. Balanced lines may reduce jackpot sharing if many players favour them—but that is not improved odds.
Format change (2015)
Before October 2015: 1–49 (low 1–24, high 25–49). After: 1–59 (low 1–29, high 30–59). The split definition changed. Compare within the same format for consistency.

Should I play balanced high/low?

The bonus ball is from 1–59. It can be included in a 7-number high/low view, but the main 6 distribution is unchanged.

Why did the low/high boundary move from 24/25 to 29/30?
Low and high are defined as an even split of the full range: 1–49 splits at 24/25, 1–59 splits at 29/30. The boundary moved because the range changed in 2015, not because of a new rule.
