UK Lotto numbers 1–59 can be grouped by decade: 1–9, 10–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59. Over 30 years, winning draws typically include numbers from several decades—all 6 from one decade is rare.
Decade distribution describes history. It does not predict the next draw.

Each number has equal probability. Past decade spread does not affect future draws.
Theoretical expectation
Each decade has 9 or 10 numbers (1–9 has 9; 10–19, 20–29, etc. have 10). With 6 numbers drawn, you expect roughly 1 number per decade on average. Draws with 2–3 numbers from one decade and 0 from another are common.

Decade 1–9 has slightly fewer numbers (9 vs 10), so it appears slightly less often. Variation of ±0.2 across decades is normal.
How many decades per draw?
Most draws (80%+) have numbers from 4–6 different decades. Draws with all 6 from 2–3 decades are rarer. All 6 from one decade is extremely rare (only possible for 50–59, with 10 numbers).
Format change (2015)
Before 2015: 1–49. Decades were 1–9, 10–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49. The 50–59 decade did not exist. Post-2015 data includes the new decade.
