Overview

In UK Lotto, 6 main numbers are drawn from 1–59. In theory, each number has an equal long-term chance—about 1 in 10 draws. The bonus ball comes from the same pool after the 6 main numbers.

Theoretical frequency assumes perfect randomness. Observed frequency is what actually happened over a given period. Short-term differences are normal.

The period matters. Rankings change between 1 year, 5 years and full history.

Important

High frequency does not mean a number is "luckier". Past draws do not predict the next one.

Sample frequency table — 1 year (Fetix data)

Period: 2025-03-08 → 2026-03-08 (104 draws). A selection of numbers across the range:

Number Draws Share Last drawn Source
1 9 1.44% 2026-02-14 Fetix
7 13 2.08% 2026-02-25 Fetix
17 14 2.24% 2026-03-04 Fetix
23 14 2.24% 2026-03-01 Fetix
31 13 2.08% 2026-03-01 Fetix
38 15 2.40% 2026-03-07 Fetix
44 13 2.08% 2026-02-28 Fetix
52 14 2.24% 2026-02-28 Fetix
59 10 1.60% 2026-01-25 Fetix

Average share per number is about 1.69% (6/59). Variation around that is expected over a year.

Why the period matters

  • 1 year: more variation; some numbers may appear 20% more or less than average.
  • 5 years: smoother; rankings shift less.
  • Full history: closest to theoretical, though never perfectly even.

What Fetix shows

For each number 1–59, Fetix displays:

  • Draw count
  • Share of draws (e.g. 2.08% over 1 year)
  • Last drawn date
  • Rankings (most/least frequent)

Switch between 1 year, 5 years and full history to see how the picture changes.

Interpreting the numbers

A number with 2.2% frequency over 1 year is not "luckier"—it had a run of luck in that window. Over decades, such spikes tend to average out. Nothing in past frequency predicts the next draw.

Roughly once every 10 draws on average (6 numbers drawn from 59). Actual results vary.

Is bonus ball frequency separate?

Yes. Fetix tracks bonus ball frequency separately. Check the Stats page for UK Lotto.

Where does Fetix get its data?

From UK Lotto draw records stored and aggregated in Fetix.
