Overview
The sum of the 6 main UK Lotto numbers (e.g. 7+14+23+31+44+52 = 171) has a predictable distribution over thousands of draws. The theoretical range is 21 (1+2+3+4+5+6) to 354 (54+55+56+57+58+59). Most winning sums cluster in the middle.
Sum distribution describes history. It does not predict the next draw.

Each combination has the same probability. Playing a "typical" sum does not improve your odds.

Why the middle dominates
Extreme sums require either many low numbers (1–15) or many high numbers (45–59). Such combinations are mathematically less numerous than balanced ones. So the sum naturally clusters around 150–220.
Does sum "strategy" work?
No. Playing a combination with a sum near 180 does not increase your chance of winning. All combinations are equally likely. Sum analysis is for curiosity only.
