At a glance
- A UK Lotto prize can be claimed for 180 days after the draw. Check the draw date on your ticket first: that decides everything.
- To see whether the ticket won, open the UK Lotto draw archive at that date, or enter your 6 numbers in My numbers to see every night they would have won.
- If it won and is still within 180 days, claim it through the National Lottery (retailer, app or post depending on the amount).
Step 1: read the date on the ticket
Every Lotto ticket shows the draw date (or the range of dates, if you played several draws in advance). Two cases:
- Less than 180 days ago: a winning ticket can still be claimed.
- More than 180 days ago: the prize can no longer be claimed, even if it won. Checking it is still interesting — but only for curiosity.
Step 2: check the numbers
If you know the exact date: open the UK Lotto draw archive, pick the date and compare your numbers with the six drawn and the Bonus ball. Since 10 June 2026 each evening has two rounds, and one ticket plays both: check each round.
If you are not sure of the date, or you play the same line every week: enter your 6 numbers in My numbers and choose a period. You get every draw where the line matched enough numbers to win, with the prize paid that night.
What an old line can turn up
To give an idea, a line of birthday numbers (3 – 7 – 12 – 19 – 25 – 31) played since 1994 would have paid out on 463 nights. Its best night: Match 4, £152, on 29 June 2024. Most of those wins are small, but a Match 4 or Match 5 is worth checking before throwing a ticket away.
Step 3: if it won
- Small prizes can usually be paid by any National Lottery retailer or in the app.
- Bigger prizes have their own claim process, with thresholds set by the National Lottery: check the official Lotto page or ask the retailer.
- Keep the ticket intact and signed: it is what proves the win.

FAQ
How long do I have to claim a UK Lotto prize?
180 days from the draw date. After that, the prize can no longer be claimed.
My ticket covers several draws. Which date counts?
Each draw on the ticket has its own 180-day window, starting from that draw's date.
Can Fetix tell me if my ticket won?
Fetix shows the results and checks your numbers against every draw, so you can see whether they matched. Only the National Lottery can validate and pay a ticket.
What about the two New Lotto rounds?
Since 10 June 2026, one ticket plays Round 1 and Round 2 on the same evening. Check both: a line can lose in one and win in the other, and prizes add up.
How far back can I check?
To the very first draw, 19 November 1994. The archive is synced automatically after each draw.
