At a glance

  • To find out whether your lucky numbers have ever won, enter them in My numbers: Fetix checks them against 1,983 draws since 2004.
  • A line of birthdays (3 – 7 – 12 – 19 – 25 ★ 2 – 9) would have won something 150 times. Its best night: 3 numbers + 2 stars, €53.80.
  • On nights when all five numbers drawn are "days" (31 or under), the jackpot was won a little more often: 28.8% of draws, against 22.4%.

In EuroMillions, the Lucky Stars are always months

A detail few players notice: Lucky Stars run from 1 to 12. Any birth month can be a Lucky Star, so an "all dates" line is always possible: 5 days (1 to 31) and 2 months (1 to 12).

For the main numbers, though, sticking to dates leaves out 19 of the 50 (32 to 50).

What happens on "birthday nights"

Out of 1,983 draws, all five main numbers were 31 or under on 160 draws — 8% of the time, which is what chance predicts.

Draws since 2004 Draws Jackpot won Winners when won
All 5 numbers ≤ 31 160 46 (28.8%) 1.17
At least one number above 31 1,823 408 (22.4%) 1.21

The jackpot goes a little more often on those nights: many people play dates, so a winning date line is more likely to have been played somewhere. But unlike the UK Lotto, it is not shared more: 1.17 winners on average. With nine countries playing the same draw and 139 million possible lines, identical tickets stay rare.

Do lucky numbers have better odds?

No — and not worse either. Every line has exactly the same chance: 1 in 139,838,160 for the jackpot. Keeping your lucky numbers is a matter of heart, not an advantage or a handicap.
